With reference to my despatch No.235 of the 18th August last, in which I informed you of the resignation of Mr.J.G.T.Buckle from his posts in the Civil Service of this Colony, I have now the honour to recommend that Mr.H.H.J.Gompertz, Assistant Registrar General, be appointed to the vacant posts of Assistant Colonial Secretary and Clerk of Councils.
